St. Jude is shown in this statue with an image of Jesus over his heart. He is holding a staff to show his missionary travels and he has a flame over his head to show his zeal for the Faith. This statue is 12 inches tall and sculpted in Italian plaster.
St. Jude was one of the twelve apostles. He probably preached the Gospel in Syria. He also is sometimes pictured with a scroll, to remind us of the epistle of St. Jude. He is the patron saint of lost or desperate causes.
