These are the collects which are in common with the Liturgy of the Hours, so that there will be a continuity between the new Roman Missal in English and the prayers of the Divine Office.
The prayers are arranged in the same order as they appear in the Roman Missal, in both Latin and English. The Latin text is given for 2 reasons: first, as a pastoral service for those who wish to pray in Latin from time to time or even habitually. Second, to offer access to the richness of the original Latin prayers, hallowed in many instances by centuries of liturgical and use and commentary.
