Adele Dirsyte's simple words to Our Lady and Our Lord, secretly penned more than a half-century ago in a Siberian prison, continue to reveal ...
They are the message, the truth, and the belief of a faithful follower of Christ, of a beloved child of Mary. They are the prayers of all who suffer.
Adele Dirsyte was born in Lithuania in 1919. She was arrested in 1946 for Catholic activities that were considered "contra-revolutionary" and sent to a prison in Siberia. There, with the help of several companions, she secretly wrote and bound copies of a prayer book that became known as "Mary, Save Us." She died in prison in 1955 and is now a candidate for beatification. This is her prayer book.
