Please make your selection in the Drop-Down menu above which Bible you would like. The New American Bible (NAB) was carefully translated by the Confraternity of Catholic Doctrine from the original Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic texts for English-speaking Americans. Once it was published in 1970, it was declared the official basis of the Lectionaries in the United States and used at Mass until 2002, when the New American Bible Revised Edition became its replacement. The compilation of the New American Bible Revised Edition (NABRE), also known as the Saint Joseph Bible, was conducted by 100 scholars and theologians. A completely new translation of the Old Testament was made and the 1986 edition of the New Testament became the new standard. The readings at Mass in the USA are currently taken from the NABRE.
